About
About Points Professor
Points Professor helps people get real value from credit card rewards without letting rewards drive their spending. It’s for rewards beginners who pay their statements in full, cardholders wondering whether an annual fee is still worth it, and households trying to simplify overlapping cards and points.
What we focus on
Rewards are only worth having if they fit your budget. So every guide starts there: pay in full, spend what you’d spend anyway, and only then compare earning rates, fees and credits.
We show the math. When a guide compares cards, fees or credits, it states every assumption, values points conservatively (usually at what you could reliably get as cash), and counts benefits only if they replace spending you’d make anyway.
What we don’t do
- We don’t publish “best card” rankings. Our guides show you how to compare cards on your own spending.
- We don’t promise approval for any card, or a particular saving.
- We never encourage borrowing or extra spending to earn rewards. If you’re carrying a balance, paying it down comes first.
- We don’t invent personal experiences. When a guide uses a worked example, it’s labeled as illustrative.
Card terms change often. Check the issuer’s official terms before applying for, changing or closing a card.
